Call for Proposals

The Program Committee of the 48th Annual Conference of the International Association of Aquatic and Marine Science Libraries and Information Centers (IAMSLIC) and the 4th Grupo Regional Latinamericano (LARG) conference invites submission of proposals to present at this hybrid conference, either in person in Uruguay, or remotely.

Conference Theme and Sub-themes

The IAMSLIC 2022 conference theme is “From Streams to Oceans: Libraries Informing Sustainability of Aquatic Resources.” The Conference offers an ideal opportunity to exchange ideas about the importance of libraries in the sustainability of aquatic resources. We hope to continue bringing the IAMSLIC community together to share experiences and further collaborations to advance the field of aquatic sciences information.

IAMSLIC2022 welcomes proposals that highlight:

  1. Data Science and Data Analytics (Visual Literacy, Research Data Management, Artificial Intelligence)
  2. Ethics of Data Sharing (Open Access, Intellectual Property, Value of Sharing Data)
  3. Ocean and Climate Change Literacy (Pollution, Other Issues)
  4. Library Administration and Leadership (Pandemic, Natural Disasters, Future of Libraries, Professional Development, Mentoring, Collaborations)
  5. Sustainable Development Goals - Support Initiatives
  6. Information Literacy (Education and Training)
  7. Publishing and Publishers (Transformative Agreements, Predatory Journals, Peer Review Process, Curating Pre-prints and Post-prints).

Call for Proposals

Please consider submitting a conference paper and sharing your knowledge. At this point, you do not need to be certain whether you can be present in person at the meeting or will attend virtually. However, to ensure a successful hybrid experience, IAMSLIC strives towards a minimum of 50/50 in-person vs. online presentation, or higher in-person. We acknowledge that situations might change and that some people who intend to attend in person may need to switch due to unforeseen circumstances. As a presenter, you can indicate in the online conference proposal submission form which setting (in-person or virtual) you prefer.
